Finally! We are back online! After over a year of server issues we have finally found a host that can handle us. The great news is that there was almost no data loss even though we had two server crashes that wiped out the entire site. We will continue working on small bugs and layout improvements. If you find a bug please post it on the Site Bugs forum. Thanks!

There are 2 ways to apply entities, select certain ones from the entity list when you press the icon and place them into map, or for various other entities simply click on the object you want to be an entity, and right click, then select tie to entity, and there will be a big list of entities to choose from, im going to list the essential ones:


info_player_start- your player start, needed in most maps for it to be recognised,

info_player_deathmatch - obviously for dm

func_door - why am I listing these!

func_water - why!

light_environment - only need 1, only uses one, overall lighting of map, if it has any sky

light - used for lighting up stuff Smiley

ambient_generic - used to put in such things as sounds

func_wall - can group objects together, such as complex shapes and make them less laggy

 

for a nice list of entity's and there uses check handy vandal site.

when i right click on the object or just click on the tool it doesent give me any opitions does anyone know why?

I seem to be having the same problem when i click on entities and then i click and make one of those pink squares then i right click and when i go to the entity list there are no options i am wondering why this is happening?

name them both the same and have the button target that name.
change the direction the doors open

How do u make a door that can only be opened with a button somewhere else in the map, and not by pressing action on the door?Huh

once you name the door it can only be opened by what ever targets it. Like a button. Look thru the flags in properties
