Finally! We are back online! After over a year of server issues we have finally found a host that can handle us. The great news is that there was almost no data loss even though we had two server crashes that wiped out the entire site. We will continue working on small bugs and layout improvements. If you find a bug please post it on the Site Bugs forum. Thanks!

I am just wanting to model some stair railings.Modeling them is easy I export my stairs as dxf to use as a guide in max7.
I am not very good at skinning but was wondering is their a way to use an existing railing texture thats in a gcf ?

I'm sure you can, use gcfscape to extract the texture, use vtf edit to make it a tga, so when you do the uvmapping, you can open it in modelling program and or photoshop.

The above tools can be found on the mapping tools page

I would have to say that you probably won't find what your looking for or at least something that will be helpful to you. Plus it's some of effort to extract and convert textures.

Use google image search to find some textures. You may have to look a bit, but you should find something that meets your needs. At least you have 2nd choice now.
