How to Install Maps (Regular and Source)

You install the maps in the same subdirectories /cstrike/maps etc etc BUT only have the main subdirectory as your dedicated server folders.

Don't forget to edit the maplist.txt and mapcycle.txt to add the map names of the new custom maps.

how come i dont have steam in my c drive and im to counter strike

edit: never mind i found the steam but the resident evil map is like a zip file, can somebody tell me what to do?

unzip it. windows can do it, if not download winzip (google for it) and use that

well i made a map in hammer and i put it in the map folder after compiling it, but i get the trouble with the window closing when i create a server, but i chose css in the source sdk launcher for hammer, could someone help please

Hey i just got a 20man pub and was wondering if  someone can help me install some maps, im using mani mod. I did what the map said to do put the .bst files into maps and the wads into cstrike folder. I also added the names of the files to maplist.txt and mapcycle.txt but they still wont work. Also my motd wont work. im trying to use a lin, can someone help me out with this?

     This is the farthest I can get C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Valve\Steam    So are you saying that I just create the folders myself and add the map files?  How will counterstrike access it then?

no thats the wrong folder
look for C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\username\counter-strike source\cstrike

ok I got to the /cstrike folder  do I just drop the map into that folder or do I place it into one of the subfolders in that folder?  And once I do that how do I access it in game?
